NRIs to Adopt Schools in Telangana State

HYDERABAD: Each of the non-resident Indians hailing from Telangana is a brand ambassador for the new state of the country, BP Acharya, principal secretary, Tourism and Culture, has said.

He was speaking at a special event organised to commemorate State formation day by the United States’ chapter of the Telangana Development Forum (TDF) at Rochester in New York on Friday. Each such brand ambassadors could use their contacts and networks turning them into opportunities to attract investments for Telangana, particularly in the context of the new industrial policy launched by the state government, he said.  Acharya appealed to the members to adopt one primary school each in their respective native places.

Cultural programmes and screening of the State Formation Day celebration videos were also arranged. A large number of Telangana NRI families participated in the programme and enjoyed the Telangana delicacies specially prepared for the occasion.
