World Economic Forum: An excellent industrial policy where investors get clearances within the time of two weeks in Telangana

Telangana state chief minister K Chandrasekhara Rao on Wednesday hard sold the state as a major investment destination in India, at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Dalian, China.

The CM also praised the ways being practiced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his concept of ‘Team India’. He also praised the PM’s earlier stint as the chief minister of Gujarat.

“Though Telangana is the newest and youngest state of the country, we have laid down an excellent industrial policy. We have made it as a right for the investor to get clearances within the stipulated time of two weeks. We have given clearances to 56 companies in the recent past for investing close to $2 billion. This speaks about the Indian mind set,” said the CM.

Praising the PM, Rao said, “We have a Prime Minister who is on the path of reform. He is very firm. He was quite successful as chief minister of the state of Gujarat.’’

Appealing for investment in India and particularly in Telangana, he said, “In Telangana, we are spending lot of money on providing drinking water and creating infrastructure in the city of Hyderabad and have laid down very good industrial policy. I appeal to the world business community that India is a fairly good place for investment. I welcome the world to come and invest there in general and particularly in Hyderabad and Telangana where we have a huge land bank to allot.”
