Telangana state Academy of Skills and Knowledge development policy

 Hyderabad, September 27:

Telangana government will soon announce a skill policy, according to Sujiv Nair, Chief Exective Officer, Telangana Academy of Skills and Knowledge (TASK).

“This policy, termed as Telangana State Skill Mission, may be launched in November,” Nair said, while addressing a conference of college principals organised here on Tuesday.

The Centre formulated its Skilling Policy in 2009 with the objective of enhancing skills with speed and standardise them and identified 29 sectors, he said.

Stating that the modalities of the proposed policy were still being worked out, Nair said the focus would be on short-term skilling programmes. KV Vishnu Raju, Convenor of CII Telangana Higher Education & Skill Development Panel and Chairman of Sri Vishnu Educational Society asked college principals to make pedagogy more interesting to students.

“You must make abstract things very interesting to students. Singapore has changed the design of their classrooms. Instead of one black board they have three. We need to relook at our classrooms to make learning more interesting,” he said.

The conference was organised jointly by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Vishnu Educational Development and Innovation Center (VEDIC) and TASK.
