The Telanagna Government cancelled the (EAMCET-II) after CID submitted a report in the question papers leaked


In a late night development, the Telanagna Government cancelled the Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET-II) after the CID submitted a report that the question papers were leaked. Director General of Police Anurag Sharma placed the CID report before Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao, who directed the test to be annulled and fresh test be conducted. Meanwhile, hundreds of students and parents took to the streets Friday at various places protesting against the leak and demanding that the Telnagana Government cancel the EAMCET-II and punish the students who bought the leaked questions papers.

Meanwhile, Telangana CID today made a crucial arrest in connection with leak. Cops arrested 52-year-old Shaik Raheem alias Ramesh from the city outskirts. CID sources said that Shaik Raheem contacted 14 students in Telangana and AP assuring them that he had the original question papers. He took Rs 15 to Rs 20 lakhs from each student and then took them to a resort in Pune where he gave them three sets of TS EAMCET-II-2016 (medical) question papers and answers. Of the three sets of question papers, only one of them is released two hours before the exam. He had collected Rs 1.73 crores in cash from the 14 students. Shaik Raheem distributed Rs 1.2 crores among other brokers and agents who facilitated the leak and managed the transportation and accommodation of the students to Pune and back to Hyderabad. Rs 37.50 lakhs was seized from Shaik Raheem while a bank account in which he deposited Rs 15 lakhs has been frozen.
