The projects conceived by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government of KTR chides Congress, says it ruined Telangana State

New Delhi: Telangana IT, Municipal Affairs and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao on Wednesday criticised the Congress for ruining Telangana during their 60-year rule in the past and said ‘their (Congressmen’s) minds needed a redesigning and not the projects conceived by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government’.

Referring to the Congress criticism of the TRS government, he said the former was ignorant and ill-informed in every sense and had no proper geographical knowledge too. Their comparison of Telangana with Haryana had no basis at all and the Opposition was frustrated that the Telangana government had not only conceived the new projects but also redesigned several of the existing and ongoing projects in the larger interest of the people of Telangana.

The Congress leadership was frustrated that it was not drawing any response from the people despite making several charges against the State government. He said he had invited Smriti Irani for the inauguration of Warangal Textile Park and extended all support to the handloom sector in the State.

Later in his meeting with Union Minister of Commerce Nirmala Sitharaman, KTR pleaded for Rs 1,500-crore fund to establish an industrial waste treatment plant in the proposed mega Pharma City coming up in 14,000 acres and one at Warangal too at the Textile Park.

He appealed to her to open a Commissioner of Industries' office at Hyderabad as the present Commissioner's office was located in Visakhapatnam. He pleaded for a dry port in Telangana with a provision allowing the Centre and the State to share the import duty. As the Centre was evolving a plan in this regard, Telangana must be considered for a pilot project, he said.

Rao also sought a trade centre in Hyderabad and Hyderabad-Warangal and Hyderabad-Nagpur industrial corridors, and a leather park along with a waste handling plant. At his meeting with Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar, he pleaded for early clearances to the proposed Pharma City and permission for exploration of mineral wealth at Nirmal in Adilabad district.

Referring to the efforts of the State government for greening the entire State, he urged for establishment of an air quality digital board in Hyderabad. His priority during his meeting with JP Nadda was seeking a National Drug Control Academy for Telangana. He also pleaded for establishing a National Investment and Manu-facturing Zone.
