This cluster will be one of the biggest in the world, says KTR

One of the biggest Pharma City cluster projects in the world will come up in 19,000 acres in Mucherla in Ranga Reddy district. About 8,000 acres has been allotted, said Industry Minister K.T. Rama Rao in Legislative Council here on Friday.

Responding to queries on new industrial parks in the State, he said the Central Government Environmental Clearance Committee had inspected the area and made some suggestions. Once the Centre’s clearance was obtained, land would be allotted to individual units, he said.

Listing out various mega industrial parks including Pharma City, Mega Textile Park at Warangal, Zaheerabad National Investment Manufacturing Zone and Medical Devices Park at Sultanpur in Sangareddy district, Electronics Manufacturing Clusters at Maheswaram mandal in Ranga Reddy, MSME Industrial Park at Dandumalkapur in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district etc., he said that of the 147 industrial parks allotted to the State since 1956 in the undivided State, 28,000 acres of land had been allotted.

After formation of Telangana, 53 parks were sanctioned with 46,000 acres of land. Of them, 26 industrial parks sanctioned required permissions and some of them commenced operations, he said.

Pointing out that no single industrial park was sanctioned from 2005-06 in the combined State, the Industries Minister said Dandumalkapur MSME was allotted 600 more acres of land additionally and township would come up in 190 acres of land.

Responding to a query from M..S. Prabhakar, he said Telangana government had taken back 1,035 acres of land so far from 14 organisations which had not set up industrial units for which the land was given. The reclaimed land would be allotted to new units through local industrial authorities.

Gitanjali land

Mr. Prabhakar said 190-acre land allotted to Gitanjali gems park prior to 2014 was mortgaged by the company to raise Rs. 120 crore loan. After the recent allegations against the company connected to Jeweller Neerav Modi, there were proposals to auction the land. He wanted to know if the government could take back its land. The Minister clarified that of 190 acres, sale deed was registered only for 90 acres and the rest of the land was attached by the Enforcement Directorate. Efforts were on to get back the land, he added.

On the proposed dry port in the State, he said that E&Y was asked to do a study and they identified four areas including Vijayawada Road. A broad level MoU was entered into with Dubai Port World for the dry port, he disclosed.

Once the Centre’s clearance is obtained, land will be allotted to individual units.
