Telangana Encyclopaedia 'Telangana Vignana Sarvashvam' in A-4 size in Telugu language

Writer Alikatte Shankar will soon bring out a 1,000-page Telangana Encyclopaedia (Telangana Vignana Sarvashvam) in A-4 size in Telugu language.

Stating that he had got the idea of bringing out an encyclopaedia a couple of years ago, when Telangana was formed, Mr. Shankar told The Hindu that he had completed more than half of the work pertaining to it so far. It would go for publishing in less than one year. He is planning to unveil it on June 2, 2017, on the occasion of State's fourth formation day. Mr. Shankar, who had written a novel, poetry, short stories, had also written biography of Chakali Illamma and acted as editor to Autobiography of Dusharala Satayanarayana, who formed Jala Sadhana Samithi to fight for water rights in Telangana.

Mr. Shankar said that he had gathered and compiled information sufficient for 600 pages till now.

The encyclopaedia would contain information about all the historical places, culture, geographical, literary personalities, tourism spots, prominent persons and many others related to Telangana.

Articles on over 500 poets and 500 writers, and 600 other prominent personalities would find a place in it apart from the prominent incidents in the history of the State.
