Tourists and enthusiasts will soon have an opportunity to have an aerial view of the beauty of Pearls City from helicopters, if the plans of Tourism Department to introduce heli-tourism in Hyderabad bear fruit.
The State Government also has plans to encourage eco and tribal tourism to attract more and more foreign tourists. The plans of Tourism Department were discussed in a review meeting conducted by Minister for Tourism and Tribal Welfare A. Chandulal here on Monday.
Hot air balloon facility
The Minister stated that arrangements are also being made to introduce hot air balloon facility and sea-plane to view glitter of the 400-year-old city and its expansion with the growth of information technology and film industry here. The Tourism Corporation is in talks with established tour operating agencies to attract more foreign tourists to the State by offering attractive packages.
Stating that plans were afoot to encourage eco and tribal tourism in the catchment areas of Godavari and Krishna rivers, the minister said, Nallamala forest area, including Somasila, Farhabad, Mallelateertham and Srisailam, would be suitable for eco-tourism. Besides, Medaram, Laknavaram, Tadwai, Mallur and Gattamma areas could be potential areas for tribal tourism, he explained.
The government is also planning to develop Boudha, Jain and Ramayana tourism circuits, Mr. Chandulal said, and directed the officials to make arrangements for conducting an international pearls festival in January. Chairman of Telanana State Tourism Development Corporation Pervaram Ramulu, Tourism Advisor K.V. Ramanachary, Tourism Secretary Burra Venkatesham, MD of TSTDC Christina Z. Chongthu and others participated.
